Coaching practice: I understand that From A to B to Coach program includes extensive practice coaching. Trainees in the program as well as “volunteer clients” will serve in the role of client during mock-up sessions during the training.

At any time that I am serving in the role of CLIENT, I understand and agree to the following: I am fully responsible for my physical, mental, and emotional well-being during my coaching session, including my choices, decisions, and actions. I am aware that I can choose to discontinue coaching at any time. I understand coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders nor is it a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical, financial, business, spiritual, or other qualified professionals. I understand that I am free to reject any advice, suggestions, or requests made by my coach at any time. I understand that I am engaging in faculty supervised coaching by another trainee. I understand that certain topics may be shared with other trainee and faculty for training and consultation purposes. I further understand coaching exercises provided in a learning Grow Yourself Space Grow Coaching Academy and its trainees and faculty from any liability for my coaching sessions. I commit to being authentic and real in offering legitimate topics to be coached on—I will not create a hypothetical or imaginary issue to present to my coach. I understand that would be unprofessional and unfair to my coach for learning purposes.

At any time that I am serving in the role of COACH, I understand and agree to the following: I am responsible for providing coaching according to the ethical guidelines and best practices of the coaching professional as delineated in the ICF Code of Ethics and Coaching Competencies. These guidelines and practices are available at www.coachfederation.org and will be included in my trainee handbook materials. I also understand that my client, whether colleague or “volunteer”, has signed an agreement for coaching with the same conditions stated above. I will honor those conditions in all my interactions with Clients. I commit to doing my very best to practice the skills presented in the virtual class and to avoid taking on the personal responsibility for “fixing” my client’s issue.

Conduct: All trainees are required to behave in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner throughout all of Grow Yourself Space’s trainings and within any subsequent communication among trainees and faculty. I understand and agree that if I violate this standard of professionalism and respectful behavior, I may be discharged from the program, will forfeit all fees paid, and the organization may take appropriate measures regarding my application(s) for coach certification.

Release of liability: Participation in From A to B to Coach is at the trainees’ risk. I understand and agree to waive and release any and all claims against the organization and faculty of personal injury or loss of or damage to property damage arising from participation in the program. I also understand and agree that either virtual or in-person trainings may be recorded.

I give my permission to share these recordings, in part or in full, with members of my cohort and faculty, as as well as submittal to International Coach Federation (“ICF”) for ongoing accreditation renewals and audits. For any segment that includes my identifiable participation, Grow Yourself Space must seek my explicit approval to share with anyone outside this agreed upon group.

Participant agrees to respect and comply to the following disability/discrimination/DEIJ statement

As members of the ICF community, we ascribe to the core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, and respect. The foundation of these values is a shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, belonging and justice.

We place diversity, inclusion, belonging and justice at the forefront of the work we do and Initiatives to take. As we continue the journey toward our vision, we commit ourselves to valuing the unique talents, insights, and experiences that every coach and client brings to the world.

As we celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion, we show our respect for the uniqueness of the life journey of every human being and the life choices of all people. We believe that formal learning communities must recognize their essential role in promoting and addressing these issues for a more inclusive global and local society.

All members of our team share this vision and our community members join our efforts in promoting equality, dignity, and respect. We believe in building the professional rapport with our clients and trainees with an unconditional positive regard as we welcome them as they are in the moment. Through this key attitude and competency, we aim to celebrate diversity and a grateful mindset as we bring contribution to our coaching education sector.

We aim to show our consideration and efforts through the work we do and the initiatives we take to build a diverse, inclusive, equitable and fair community. We truly believe that people of all kinds grow and thrive in collective environments as interconnected entities. As educators in the coaching industry, we hold this responsibility to embody this attitude and mindset, as we combine in our learning experiences and partnerships the reflective practice with a kind, curious and caring approach to facilitate change and development. By supporting our trainees in their self-development, we also help them to hear themselves think, thus increasing their awareness of their own biases, to see how much we all assume and reconfirm our biases on a daily basis. We include neuroscience teaching and psychological theories in our programs to deepen this understanding. As well in our team we leave space for reflection on our blind spots and be aware of opportunities for improvement. We cannot ignore the challenges that many coaches and coaching clients face due to systemic problems in their communities.

Our community members are required to show their commitment around disability, discrimination, diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, while lead by example.

It is the policy of our academy that we welcome our participants and partners with a great sense of acceptance regardless the race, age, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, disability, or ethnicity. Our trainees and participants should be able to enjoy an environment free of discrimination and harassment. Our academy does not and will not tolerate conduct by any team member, volunteer, collaborator, visitor, or vendor which unreasonably interferes with an individual’s ability to learn in a welcoming environment.

Participants who wish to report discrimination are encouraged to follow the grievance policy outlined on the website and obtained by emailing olga@wegrow.academy as we aim to promptly investigate all claims and reports of inappropriate conduct.

Participant agrees to respect the following complaint/ grievance statement

In our academy, we seek to ensure equitable treatment of every person and to attempt to solve any grievances in a timely and fair manner. Participants have the right to file a grievance regarding presentation or content, facility concerns, or instructor/faculty behavior. All grievances will be addressed to the best of our ability to prevent further problems.

Purpose The purpose of this procedure is to:

  • outline the process to be followed by staff, program facilitators, trainers and trainees when dealing with trainee related grievances
  • provide professional handling of investigations in a way that is helpful for all concerned.

Scope

This procedure seeks to ensure that complaints against the Academy made by trainees are treated seriously and, if found to be valid, are acted upon to ensure that the trainees’ interests are protected as far as it is possible for the Academy. This complaints procedure and any decisions made under them are not intended to give rise to legal rights, or obligations on the Academy to pay compensation either in respect of a decision made pursuant to the procedures or for a breach of these procedures. These procedures are intended to facilitate the resolution of grievances by the Academy.

Anonymous complaints will not normally be considered.

In all steps throughout this procedure, it is the responsibility of trainees and Academy’s team to maintain confidentiality, privacy, and integrity of those involved in the procedures. Failure to do so on the part of member(s) of staff or trainees may lead to additional disciplinary actions.

Principles which underpin the general student complaints procedures

The guiding principles of these procedures are that complaints shall be: (1) treated seriously and with fairness; (2) dealt with quickly, simply and at the appropriate level, as far as is possible; (3) treated consistently across the Academy; (4) subject to the principles of natural justice;  (5) progressed through two stages – an informal stage and, if necessary, a formal stage;  (6) dealt with and resolved wherever possible, at the informal stage.

A process for filing grievances can be found below:

Step 1. A participant or a trainee should first attempt to resolve the issue directly with the educator/trainer, team member, or participant with whom they have an issue. If participants are not comfortable approaching the individual, they can proceed to step 2.

Step 2. If participants or trainees are not comfortable approaching the individual with whom they have a grievance, or are unable to resolve the issue directly, they should submit a written grievance to the program director within (14) days. The program director will review the issue and talk to the participant or the trainee within (7) days of receiving the complaint (not including holidays and closures). The program director will work with all parties involved to resolve the issue.

Step 3. If a participant or a trainee does not feel the issue is resolved, a written request for an appeal should be sent to for review. This appeal should include the original complaint and reason(s) the participant is unsatisfied with the resolution attempt(s). Appeals are reviewed and a written response will be provided to the participant or the trainee within (7) days (not including holidays and closures). All appeal decisions are final.

If the complaint is against the program director, then an alternative staff member can be contacted and designated as the person dealing with the complaint.
